SYNERGY REDESIGNS & LAUNCHES NEW WEBSITE FOR U.S.S. INTREPID SEA, AIR AND SPACE MUSEUM

WESTPORT, CT – Synergy Corporate Technologies announced today the re-launch of the U.S.S. Intrepid Sea, Air, Space Museum’s website.

Synergy was hired earlier this year to infuse a fresh new look and more robust technology platform into the museum’s ailing site. As summed up by Darren Stone, the museum’s head of IT and the man in charge of maintain their site. “The CMS developed by our previous provider won’t even let me add a countdown timer to the homepage.”

The site (www.intrepidmuseum.org) features a best in class CMS that gives the Intrepid web staff full control over the entire website with little or no web coding knowledge required. In addition the updated visual design brings a breath of fresh air and lightness to conform with the completely redesigned museum.

The new site features an online trip planning & ticket purchase, a new online membership area, secure press access, interactive map with 360° panoramic images, an interactive KidsZone featuring games and facts about the museum presented from a child’s perspective, there is also a donations engine, curators blog, online shop, volunteer opportunities, live web cams and so much more.

Synergy pulled off this herculean feat in less than two months start to finish. In the words of Susan Marenoff, Director of the Intrepid Museum, “You [Synergy] have made this entire process as smooth and easy as possible. You have anticipated our needs and met our expectations every step of the way. It is a real pleasure to work with such professional staff.”

As one of the world's largest maritime museums, the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum is housed aboard the 900-foot-long ESSEX class aircraft carrier moored at pier 86 along New York City’s west side. The Intrepid saw service from World War II through to the Vietnam War and also served as a prime recovery vessel for NASA during the Mercury and Gemini space programs. After an illustrious career she was retired in 1974. Four years later, Zachary Fisher established the Intrepid Museum Foundation for the sole purpose of "saving the Intrepid for generations to come." Listed in the National Park Service's National Historic Landmark register, the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum was opened as a symbol of peace and education in the summer of 1982.

Pier 86 has been completely rebuilt to provide better access to the Intrepid as well as more adequately display the other attractions, including the guided-missile submarine USS Growler and the British Airways Concorde that set the fastest flight time from New York to London in just under three hours.
