​What Is Business Value Planning Service (BVPS)?

BVPS is a Software Assurance Packaged Services benefit. BVPS helps businesses identify process improvements using Microsoft Information Worker (IW) technologies. Engagements focus on one or more business processes, and produce a concise analysis of the existing process flow, the opportunities for improvement, the challenges to improvement and the measurable benefits that an IW solution can bring. 3 and 5 day BVPS engagements focus on one business process. The 5 day engagement also includes a financial benefit and cost analysis and an implementation plan. 10 and 15 day engagements respectively cover 2 and 3 business processes.

Engagement Scenarios

• Content Management - Improve a company’s ability to develop and review documents across teams, improve content reuse, apply a web content management system, and address compliance through records management.
• Performance Management - Improve a company’s performance analysis processes through more effective forecasting, analysis, and reporting via performance dashboards.
• Communications and Collaboration – Improve team coordination and performance and provide secure collaboration and access to external partners and customers.
• Operations and Process Management – Streamline business processes through electronic forms, workflow, and project management tools.

Engagement Deliverables

• Current State Analysis: Review, documentation, and analysis of the way a process is currently performed.
• Future State Analysis: Development of a revised and improved business process utilizing a Microsoft Office system solution.
• Business Case Development: Development of a cost/benefit analysis and case for proposed process change, including Key Performance Indicator improvement and multiyear cash-flow analysis.
• Adoption “Roadblock” and Mitigation Analysis: Identify and document process and technology adoption “roadblocks” or challenges and devise an appropriate mitigation plan.
• Adoption & Implementation Plan: Guidance on resources required, solution owners, risk mitigation, task sequencing, change management, and communication required to implement the proposed solution.

BVPS engagements are paid for with Software Assurance vouchers provided by Microsoft as part of your business's Microsoft license agreement.
