Duane Morris faced several challenges in migrating from their outdated intranet system, particularly given the large volume of content that would require manual migration. They also needed to develop a structure that respected the autonomy of various departments while distributing content creation and maintenance responsibilities beyond a single team. Improving site navigation and information presentation was a key focus, alongside the goal of enhancing employee engagement. Ultimately, they sought a solution that would allow for better distribution of responsibility and the streamlined maintenance of internal content across the organization.

Approach

To modernize their intranet, Duane Morris adopted Powell, a tool recommended by SYNERGY after an extensive discovery process. Powell enabled the creation of a centralized hub for firm resources and initiatives while integrating seamlessly with their existing Microsoft investments. Despite the challenge of manually migrating content from the legacy platform, the intuitive, user-friendly design of Powell made the transition easy to adopt. This solution ensured Duane Morris could streamline access to key resources and improve the overall user experience for employees across the firm.

Duane Morris sought to modernize their outdated intranet and explore SharePoint Online as part of their adoption of Microsoft 365 technologies. With over 1,000 active sites and pages, they required an efficient, user-friendly platform for staff to access and share information.
